Discovery by BeaGifted Discovery by BeaGifted
With everything I do, I like to give myself a challenge. This illustration was a bit difficult becuase I had never done an underwater scene before. Overall I enjoyed the whole experience, though I feel I could have captured the feel of an underwater discovery much better.

Wow. The detail is just amazing. I haven't actually seen a picture like this before with the discovery of mermaid bones. AWESOME idea.

Might I suggest adding a few small bubbles coming from the diver's gear? Apart from that, perfect!

I think this knocks it out of the ball park. It's a very realistic scene, and you even have the hues done pretty well with all of the blue monocrhomish hues where the light doesn't shine exactly on the plants/fish/etc. I also think it was a cool touch to have a mermaid skeleton sitting there as opposed to a normal person.

this piece is absolutely amazing!!! marvelous work indeed.

what could have make it better (realistically speaking) is bubbles near the divers...you know, they are under water and have these oxygen wires and stuff so i think there should be bubbles. Though even without them, it is still a wonderful piece of art, congrats for the DD by the way! ^__^

Wow, great concept! You have very good ideas, my friend, haha. The discovery of a mermaid/merman's skeleton is something I haven't seen before in a painting. The underwater scene looks great in general, I agree with some of the previous posters, maybe a few more bubbles would have helped!

But still, it's a great piece, I wouldn't touch it lol. Keep up the good work. :)

Oooh....this is very interesting. At first glance I thought it was just a regular skeleton but then a closer examination revealed the mermaid tail. Beautiful work with the water and the background. I also really love how the woman's hair came out!

the foreground fish seemed off at first until i realized the effect you were going for... as if you were trying to have them seem out of focus!

this is so magical... i feel you did a rather remarkable job on giving it a "water feel" through color alone! it's excellent!
